Founding and brand vision

The watch brand Laventure was founded in 2017 by Clément Gaud, a Swiss designer and adventurer. After several years working for prestigious watch design agencies in Geneva, he decided to take his own path. His goal was to create a brand that combined traditional Swiss quality with the aesthetics of adventure and vintage style. The name “Laventure” (French for “adventure”) reflects this philosophy.

Production and approach
The brand is based in Neuchâtel, with production taking place in nearby La Chaux-de-Fonds, a historic centre of Swiss watchmaking. From the start, Laventure has focused exclusively on limited series, usually ranging from 50 to 100 pieces. All components are made in Switzerland, and the watches bear the 100% Swiss Made label. Movements usually come from ETA, and the cases, dials and hands are custom-made.

Model ranges
Laventure Marine (2017) – The brand’s first collection. Inspired by diving watches of the 1960s. 41 mm case, 200 m water resistance, sandwich dial with strong luminescence and sapphire crystal. A successful crowdfunding campaign raised over CHF 200,000.
Laventure Sous-Marine (2018–2021) – A follow-up diver’s series with a more robust design, larger bezel and options in bronze or steel. Highly limited editions, quickly sold out.
Laventure Transatlantique GMT (2020) – A GMT model for travellers. Inspired by the transatlantic era of the 1950s. Retro styling, modern quality, limited to 50 pieces.
Laventure Automobile Chronograph (2022) – The first chronograph of the brand, inspired by 1960s motor racing. Two-register layout, vintage pushers, refined dial designs. Only 99 pieces produced.

Design and philosophy
Laventure has gained popularity through its consistent aesthetic. Its watches blend vintage features with modern materials. Signature elements include: sandwich dials with strong luminescence, domed sapphire crystals, retro typography and patinated colours, quality leather straps and bronze cases. The designs often echo the spirit of legendary designer Gérald Genta, yet retain a distinct identity.

Exclusivity and community
Laventure is considered a microbrand – a small, independent company producing very limited quantities and avoiding mass distribution. Sales are handled exclusively through the official website, and each new model sells out within minutes. As a result, Laventure enjoys a strong following among collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
