History of the Seiko 6R15 Movement
The 6R15 caliber was introduced around 2005 as an evolution of the well-known 7S26 caliber. Compared to the 7S26, it brought significant upgrades – hacking (stopping the seconds hand when setting the time), manual winding capability, and most notably a longer power reserve thanks to the use of the Spron 510 mainspring, known for higher elasticity and durability. The movement was used in many models, especially in the Seiko SARB, Prospex, and Presage lines, forming the backbone of quality watches offering excellent value for money.

Nevertheless, the 6R15 remains highly valued, with many models housing it holding cult status, such as the Seiko SARB033 and SARB035. Some versions of the 6R15 feature differently decorated rotors or partially skeletonized bridges.
